I'd like to think they were merely cynical and mendacious, but far too many believe their own b.s. Here in WV, a state house delegate -- on the Finance Committee, no less -- told me he didn't believe the tariffs under Trump 1.0 were causing price hikes. When they were, in fact, causing price hikes.

There are cracks in the wall for sure. AOC posted that in private conversations, GOP reps say they simply didn't believe rural hospitals were endangered and would fold. Now they are hearing this is exactly the case and are starting to sweat. See MTG. Too many GOP reps drinking kool-aid.

I am continually amazed at how inept she is. She's trying to deflect, obviously, but everyone knows that if those files contained anything that could smear Democrats, she would have released them long ago. But Trump's name is all over them, so she sits on them.
