I remember the good old days of making a font bigger or adding adjectives and adverbs to a paper to make it hit a certain length. I never had the idea to totally abandon the assignment. Why is she going to university in the first place? She clearly knows everything.
Worth noting that the student admits that she just threw the thing together in 30 minutes without reading the paper she was supposed to be responding to.

On advice from @elrickane.bsky.social on @colorsofthedark.bsky.social I bought "In the Miso Soup." Read it in a couple of sittings. Captivating.

My favorite holiday activity: deleting apps I did not ask for or download after a system update. Thanks, Android!

I am a simple man with simple needs but after watching Chain Reactions, if we could have @pattonoswalt.bsky.social @horrornonna.com and @stephenking.bsky.social talk about, oh, every movie every made, that would be great.

Quite enjoyed "Man Finds Tape". An interesting take in the found footage genre. Less jump scare and more psychological thriller.

I am mostly numb to shipping announcement emails, especially this time if year but this one got me excited. How many versions of Chainsaw are there? Not enough.

So excited by two local multiplexes don't have any screenings of the new Knives Out movie, but in Saturday have literally 51 showings of Zootopia 2. At least our local independent is showing Zootopia 2 only on 3 out of their 7 screens.

If I have learned much from watching horror movies, if you are given a mirror that the person who sold it gave you a great deal, has creepy figures sculpted on it AND a dog will not stop barking at, just throw it out.

Local folks, Last Stop CD Shop has gift ideas for adults in need. You grab the tag and then buy the product from Last Stop. You make someone's holidays better AND support local business.

With all this talk about movie continuity on Bluesky today, I remember Keith Giffen in the back of a comic who wrote the smartest thing I have ever read: "continuity means nothing, character consistency is everything."

I prefer my fire alarms to sound like the "ocean" setting on an ambient noise generator.

I have no rooting interest in this game, but that is a level one gut punch to an entire stadium full of Blue Jay fans.

@aewontv.bsky.social, why am I still seeing ads for ICE on Dynamite?

I'm all for candy makers customizing their products each season, but Kit Kat might have gone a little too far.

I'm currently at a wedding "dance" with a bunch of twenty somethings. They don't dance. They just stand on the dance floor and sing the lyrics to the songs. It looks like what an alien A.I. would think a wedding dance is like.

Tonight's episode of Alien Earth would have been an extraordinary experience in a movie theater. Homage to the original yet utterly compelling. Love this show.

I am very happy to be alive when Alien Earth, Star Trek Strange New Worlds, and Peacemaker are all releasing new episodes every week.

I'm getting very confused at the way "Al" as in Weird Al looks the same as "AI" or artificial intelligence. One I really love and hope produces content forever, and the other I wish would just die already. Spoiler alert, I like Weird Al.
