A story Stoppard told several times, in several places:

It was a significant privilege to hear this band live tonight. Peat told us this was maybe their eighth gig, Kim their first in London.Their intensity is like hard rain. Unyielding at the edge of tolerance.

Aya's
'Hexed!'
That sense of unnerved wonderment when you hear gobby mania on the top deck of an outbound night bus... a charismatic lilt through raging, cute, knowing wisdom in a meter that's strange and welcoming.

John Glacier's
'Like A Ribbon'
Loops fret like beads on a rope, vocals are pasted refrains, emotions are painted from palleted decades and spattered genres. A canvass of identity and modernity; clever and musical; honest and captivating.

Milkweed's
'Remscéla'
You are woozy but sat. You don't understand what happened today. Your hair smells of fire and you can taste blood. The bard weaves partials and wefts earshot of unsafe cattle and depleted mates.

"Nothing on this planet had so forcefully hammered into here the ultimate value of beer. Not the beer-sellers, not the dried skins of the snacks, nor the beer jackets or the rules of beer discipline. Here there was a substance more precious than all others." Frank Herbert, Dune, 1965

One of the coolest things I've ever seen - @clppng.bsky.social used a bunch of tiny robots and everyday junk and trash to create the backing tracks live for a tiny desk concert. I'm seeing them in February, I wonder if the robots will be hitting the road?

Elijah Jamal Asani's
',,, as long as i long to memorise your sky ,,,'
In an espalier'd garden a goat butts its windchimed post, keeping loose time with bumbling birds. You can smell citrus, pine and honeysuckle. You roll memories chewed from rhubarb around your mouth.

The sound of people falling to assumptions about each other and circumstance during unfinished thoughts regarding themselves. The crescendos are great.

Los Pirañas'
'Una Oportunidad Más De Triunfar En La Vida'
Frenetic Columbian party-time music. There are obvious foundations but every now and again there's a two step of ska or a bass line of oompah to pull you out of the wild abandonment.

Laura Cannell's
'LYRELYRELYRE'
A fantasia from which the Lover of Lyres magicks a weaver of sonic pictures; each title a prompt, each piece its representation. This isn't the Zauberlehrling's fumbled control, though. Cannell is the sourcerer of sound.
