I have fond memories of being taken there by my aunt Nellie (known as Nenenne), probably in the mid 1980s. A decade late, I went back with the family, to mark Nenenne’s passing. It was one her favourite places.

10+years ago, I met a couple of fab women on Twitter who lived in the same city as me and also liked football, beer, vintage toys from the 80s and general silliness. We decided to meet up irl and have been friends ever since. Thank you both!

it's going to be so sick, I spent ages scouring art fairs, graduate shows and the whole wide internet to find amazing early career artists without formal gallery representation, come to the Outsiders Arts Club in November if you'd like to buy their art and also have a drink and learn stuff about art

It’s hard to be certain at what point my status changes but I have passed the deadline for them to tell me I can’t be Belgian, or to demand further paper work, so I’m *probably* now Belgian. I won’t fully believe it until I’m summoned to collect my new ID card, which may not happen for a few weeks.

An exciting day, in which I may have become legally Belgian and also about to Meet the Author: in this case Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, at Bozar.

Am I Belgian yet? I am posing in my bright yellow winter jacket, under the street sign for Rue de la Cigogne/ Ooievaarstraat in Brussels. Above the official street sign, is a mosaic stork carrying a bundle in the colours of the Belgian flag.
