Re-organised my print store into "collections". Adding more new images throughout this week. If you're interested in an original print by me on your wall. Or want to buy one for a gift, do take a look. And re-post and share this if you feel inclined. Every little helps. 🙏❤️

Pre-sale has begun for the February Zine! This month, I'm writing about some of the stories hiding in your typical bowl of miso soup, a subject that's much deeper than it might appear at first glance.

Shares appreciated, as always.

I plan to curate a list of #photo people — Not a starter pack, a list. This way, you can pin the list to your feed and follow #photographers in a custom feed on Bluesky. It should be a nice way to find new people when you log on. Drop me a line if you want me to add you. Please RT. Thank you!

The end of week two for these carnations. I like to buy them mostly closed, give them a fresh cut, and put them in water with a splash of bleach. I make sure there aren’t any leaves touching the water. They tend to last longer than other cut flowers and are a less expensive flower.

Nowhere near complete, but I like how December is coming along in my 2025 Hobonichi Cousin. I try to use it as a functional planner with some decorative and memory keeper elements.

It will continue to evolve as December progresses…

Hey everyone, I have an ask. Earlier this year, I left an extremely toxic work environment due to the effects it was having on my health. Since then, I’ve been slowly building up freelance creative work in the Tokyo area. It’s a bit too slow, though, and I need help rounding up more work, ASAP.

Today is the first day of the 2025 Hobonichi Weeks! Yes, I'm very excited and switched out my Weeks last night. After a year of significant changes, including two moves, I look forward to starting a new planner.

This crowdfunding seeks donations to support the restoration of the urushi industry, which was affected by the earthquake. The funds will be used to grow urushi saplings over a long period, plant them, and harvest them in ten years for use in Wajima's art. 🌱

An older photo…this was taken at Eiheiji in Fukui Prefecture about 5 or so years ago. They had some lotus near the entrance to the temple complex.

Goal setting for 2025 (really starting before January):

-Get rid of some stuff. Moving twice in 2024 meant I got rid of some stuff, but other stuff got shoved into boxes).

-Get rid of Japanese textbooks as I use them (for example, test prep/practice books). Keep reference books if needed.

In January, Wajima, a renowned lacquerware hub, was devastated by a major earthquake and once-in-centuries torrential rains. This project carries prayers for Wajima’s phoenix-like revival. Four types of pens will be created and donated. 🖋️ forms.gle/gfjwKm8kJeVr...

Why do I keep paper planners instead of using my phone?

At the root of it, it makes me happy. I like being able to physically flip through. I also like stickers and adding photos I printed out.
