Or with Le Guin's anthropological style, the prose draws attention to how people work, where they live, the social structures around them, etc. To pull it off, Le Guin uses either a storybook omniscience (earthsea) or close 3rd attached to someone who's impacted by that social structure (LHoD)

I think there's also something interesting about how 'worldbuilding' influences narrative voice as well. For example how the very chatty omniscient narrator of Discworld can get away with a lot of asides, which fill in the world but aren't about making the world more 'real'.
