You don’t have to be like someone to think they should have been on a ballot.

I think it’s become more prevalent. There used to be an expression “lads and lassies” that seems to have been replaced with “lads”

There have also been examples of Chat GPT gaslighting people when caught out giving incorrect info.

What’s the usual punishment for illegal discharges causing this much damage?

Vast majority are House sparrows and Starlings. A few pigeons (but they are there a long time)

I vehemently disagree with the focus of these people’s anger but I’m not going to pretend it’s not there or why they think as they do.
July 22, 2025 at 7:45 AM
That’s a fairly odd way of saying that people from socially disadvantaged areas are more likely to have a problem with migration. Reasons for that seem fairly obvious. When people from disadvantaged areas see a lack of investment in their areas but billions spent on IPAS centres it makes them angry.

Hard to think of someone who made a bigger impact on Irish society given just 120 seconds to tell the truth about institutional abuse. RIP Hero

It’s fairly shocking to me that 1/3 of Irish young people see renting for life as a viable option. I think that’s sad and a gateway to a return to feudalism.

I’d have thought a lack of trade would slo down the economy and reduce Carbon output.
April 5, 2025 at 11:24 AM
Perhaps it would help if I said the most densely populated areas and those that have added most to Carbon to the atmosphere are the developed western countries (ones with white people). Now can we address the issue? If Capitalism had merely doubled the population there wouldn’t be a problem.

Ask any South African or Brazilian and they will tell you it is increasing human demand for land that is destroying wild habitats.
March 27, 2025 at 5:54 PM
There is also another problem as people become less poor they eat more meat. The meat industry estimates beef demand to double between 2018 and 2030 not primarily due to extra population but average wealth is increasing in the developing world and they can afford meet.
March 27, 2025 at 5:52 PM
Presume for a second I’m not one of those racist types but instead one of those who see capitalism has increased the human population 8 fold in only 200 years when it was fairly flat for thousands of years. And it is this thing that is the main reason for our climate catastrophe.

It sets out in Words what this graph makes completely obvious. The only animals not in danger of extinction due to our activity are our food. At some stage it will become obvious that human population matters. Most conservationists can’t stomach that. ourworldindata.org/wild-mammals...
Wild mammals make up only a few percent of the world’s mammals
Livestock make up 62% of the world’s mammal biomass; humans account for 34%; and wild mammals are just 4%.

Might u be over complicating this? I think it’s a power grab to make parliament less democratic. The plan was dreamt up by Lowry on the basis that there is no formal rule to stop the previously normal practice. Opposition are asking why the MM is bending over backwards? Simple. It suits him.
