I skip all the Q episodes in Voyager 🤷‍♂️
earlgreymemes.club
hey chat, should I start a youtube?
ncc17formula1.bsky.social
Can't you post them to YouTube and embed the YouTube link to Bluesky?
earlgreymemes.club
and it's only a configuration change!
there's literally just some yaml ass config file somewhere in Bluesky that's like

maxVideoDurationMillis: 180000

but changing that to 3600000 would require more storage per VC, which is obviously a Business decision that requires Business approval

"Worst Case Scenario" is pure cinema, easily a top 10 episode of the series, playing on the Maquis conflict deep into the third season and bringing back Seska, hitting on that Voyager tendency of playing with alt realities, and foreshadowing the later season plots about holonovel authorship

"Distant Origin" barely even features the main cast, and the worst part of the episode is easily the 10 minutes or so where it tries to be a Chakotay episode. They even bring back Ensign Hogan (who says this show doesn't have continuity?)

absolute classic Star Trek Voyager

Bluesky could be adding support for 5+ min videos right now but instead they're uhhh *gestures vaguely at whatever is happening on this website*
earlgreymemes.club
had a great idea for a video series on the No Context account "Every Star Trek Voyager Teaser In Order" where I would post two per week or something like that, but first Bluesky needs to support 5+ minute videos

I understand the need for a break, but i still miss @nocontexttrek1.bsky.social a lot. Wherever they are, I'm sure they're full-throat screaming in someone's face and ejecting a warp core...

It also has Tom and Tuvok arguing about how to author a holonovel with Neelix trying to chime in, which has to be one of the greatest ever scenes in Voyager

"Displaced" is just average Star Trek, but still a bright spot in this season

The guest acting is solid, the setup nicely satirizes Voyager's tendency for nonsense technobabble physics, the noncarcereal resolution is satisfying, and the holo space prison is a recurring theme in the show

I still think the third season of Voyager is probably the worst season overall, but it does end with three great episodes (dare I say bangers) before Scorpion

now I'm thinking about how my first posting anniversary was on election day and how I decided to delay the celebration by a week just on the off-chance that Trump would win
earlgreymemes.club
remember before Trump was elected how this was probably still true? 🤔

I kinda feel bad copy/pasting this much right wing garbage onto another platform and ideally these would be screenshots with a big red X through it or something, but I figured the risk of things being misconstrued or actually being re-weaponized as right wing propaganda on here is pretty low

I posted this to my Facebook and it got shared by a page with very large reach, so of course the conservative fans have crawled out of their holes to confirm exactly how they don't understand Star Trek (or much of anything, really)

Here's a thread of some of the funniest ones...
earlgreymemes.club
awhile back I did a thread of #ConservativeTrek takes and most of them are like this ⬇️

They love that it's science fiction because it means they can dismiss all the political stuff as being fantastical.
earlgreymemes.club
Oh, I understand it. I’m just grateful it’s a fantasy I can enjoy and nothing more.

I know this is a beloved quote, but this is why I can't vibe with it

Firstly, a logical construction isn't necessarily valid, it might just be a straight up fallacy like this post ⬇️ (brains can hurt, and brains can be represented by bits, therefore anything that can be represented by bits can hurt)
