More book-ish/ writing leanings
Really enjoying Son of Wolf, not sure if it’s just the first couple stories but there’s threads that link them to being in the same time/reality so it feels like an anthology instead of self contained stories. Love little connections like that!
Started Jack London's first published collection 'The Son of the Wolf' and by golly the story 'The White Silence' has some absolutely killer passages about winter wanderings.

Batman: Resurrection ⭐️⭐️⭐️.75/5
That was an awesome and just plain fun popcorn read. If you have even the slightest interest in the Tim Burton Batman-verse this book does a fantastic job of fleshing out the events from the original movie while also expanding the setting and characters.

About 10% into the sequel John Jackson Miller put out last year and it’s leaps and bounds better. Not just prose wise but the action scenes are actually follow-able and I’ve even laughed a few times at the dialogue!

⭐️⭐️.5/5
Inoffensively average.
Very much in the same category as the Return of the Jedi novelization I read earlier this year. Says what it is on the can with some artistic flourishes but without much substance outside the original work.

Just finished the prologue and it’s such a vibe. Grimy, gritty feel but also a conversational narrator. If it keeps up like this it’ll be a real treat!

My latest writing project is a mixed inspiration from the famous Tim Allen movie ‘The Santa Clause’ and the audiolog diaries of Subject 16 from Assassin’s Creed 2.

A very fun and entertaining western. Unfortunately the ending leaves quite a bit to be desired and I wish it had an extra 40 pages to wrap everything up nicely. Still by no means bad but can’t help but end on a low note when it feels so rushed.

“Why are folks getting dumber?” Because they don’t read. “Why aren’t men as romantic & poetic as they used to be?” Because they don’t read. “Why are people so vulnerable to propaganda?” “Why is everyone a conspiracy theorist?” Because they don’t read. Because they don’t read.

As I get older my compassion for people submitting to learned helplessness just goes lower and lower. “It’s not fair!!” Yea no fuck dude it hasn’t been fair the last 15 years but we keep trying.

Big L did it again, thought he was just a cowboy writer? Nope, opening chapter is a fucking jailbreak set on a boat. 10/10, I’m here for the ride.

The latest addition to my all time favourites shelf.
One of the best examples of existential/cosmic horror with a sprinkling of lost love and a dash of a crisis of faith. Every reread I noticed something new or see a new angle on ‘what’ the Borderland could be.
Such a trip, highly recommend

Brick by brick. The realization that you’ve accomplished some pretty cool stuff hits me in waves but little quiet moments like this make all the struggling of the past decade so worth it.
