With Dartmoor weather, I have been known to picnic standing up, but honestly, the entitlement of this man...
King John fenced in the Forest of Dartmoor as his hunting grounds in the 13th century

It seems to me that Darwell’s case (that open air recreation doesn’t include even sitting down for a sandwich, let alone wild camping) is dim & would be unenforceable 🙄

It's a very strange time currently to move as I do between policy circles and the housing sector
- Never seen policy so upbeat - positive change on planning, long-term funding, etc
- But the housing sector, and esp social housing is on its knees. Finances don't stack up, output falling off a cliff

About 10 minutes into this is a clip of Liz Truss accusing Clement Attlee and the 1947 Planning Act of being the root of all wokeness. I don’t know whether to be proud of Planning for being early adopters of kindness or weirded out by everything she says!

I saw an Instagram post that the #wildcamping case on #Dartmoor is back in court soon.

I “enjoyed” wild camping on the moors as a teen and whilst I generally prefer a little more comfort now, the right is an important one.

If you can support this, please do.

Just caught an Esso advert (on a cricket podcast...) encouraging us to make linked trips... Who do drives into town (for example) to do one errand, then home before going out to do another in the same place? #greenwashing aside, it felt like an odd advert.

Committee and wider training is so important to the overall success of Planning and the robustness of decision-making but it can be tricky to find the time to properly resource it in-house.
