Are there places where Target is the only store? Like some places only have a Dollar General and then nothing else for miles in any direction. Are there places where Target's like that?

I've only ever see one like right next to a Meijers or a Costco.

One of my favorite things about RDT1 was the idea that everyone started leaving London for christmas because they knew by now it'd be wrecked by aliens.

Sometimes you just have a lot of thoughts. There's no conclusion. I've always liked Flex and I hope he's both happy and not secretly evil.

Of course Cosby hated it. I'm slightly more surprised at Spike, but not that much. Yes, they were gate keeping, which isn't always bad. And the show only lasted, what, a season? If that?

Even still, it's okay to just acknowledge that stuff is bad, and still like it. And also not diss it.

End of the day, nobody got their stereotypes from Homeboys. Nobody developed a worse impression of black people from Homeboys. If they hated us after watching it (assuming they actually watched it), they hated us before watching it

And the people who liked it just wanted to laugh and like a show.

I don't know. I'm trying to adapt to this world where no one I talk to has necessarily seen any of the things that I've seen that week, since we're all siloed.

But I don't think Homeboys was the worst thing to happen to black people.

I think with the diffusing of the media landscape, especially what we would consider "television," we no longer have good black anchor shows. Maybe Abbott Elementary? I don't watch mockumentaries.

I look at the reaction to Homeboys like I look at the reaction to Tyler Perry shows. I don't watch Tyler Perry, but I don't begrudge his work. (I am commenting only on his work, death of the author, blah.)

But I think the environment has changed so much that the counterbalances are gone.

Growing up in the 90's, my memory is of there being black shows everywhere. Some good. Some bad. But we pretty much watched and found something to like about them all.

At least I did as a kid.

My PlayStation has always been my DVD player.

I just borrowed my family's old DVD/VHS player. We're watching the Cosby Show with the kids which we can't get on streaming for obvious reasons. But putting the disc in my PS4 it spins SO FAST and SO HARD I was scared it was gonna shatter!
