I like the idea that, if I were writing on Ritz paper and didn't like how things were going, I could eat the bad draft instead of just crumpling it up and throwing it away.

I read it first in grad school and I didn't realize how big an impression it had until I was describing time travel in my little fantasy world as being "unstuck" or "doing the unstuck" (the last also inspired by listening to too much Cure as a teen and twenty-something).

I was nodding along, thinking, "Yep, totally concur." Then, somewhat unbidden, I imagined the guitarist from my old high school-era band yelling at his instrument to "STAY TUNED!" and I thought, "If my kids ask, I'm telling them it's something Andy Hicks used to say."

Need more sleep.
