Doing a search for Rom and found this classified ad that ran for a few days in June 1983. I wonder if they ever got their Rom figure?

Will, that's a first. Flow (a.k.a. Flow Free) didn't complete flipping the board when I tried to go to the next level. But it was letting me drag some of the trails around anyway, if you look closely. Restarting the app fixed it.

Oh, and Rom (IDW) #1 — comic, multi-cover comic pack, Rom: Earthfall TPB, and Rom: Cold Fire, Hot War TPB.

Oh, yeah, forgot that pack came with 3-D glasses.

Post a perfect album from the '90s that isn’t Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden or Alice In Chains.

Upgraded "Lockjaw and the Pet Avengers Unleashed" from a 75%-sized TPB with flat paper to a full-sized hard cover with glossy paper. Sadly the HC cost me less than the TPB. (And I didn't pay full price for either.) #ComicSky

Oh, Dave has a point there. Never *had* an AOL e-mail address, but did "use" them by sending. So 19 for me. (I never slept in a water bed.)

You've nailed why I'm reluctant to replace my old comics with book collections. The ads were part of my original experience. Not to mention letters pages and Marvel's Bullpen Bulletins. (At least Marvel's Omnibuses usually include the letters pages.)

I mean, how else are you going to get this?

Went back to the shop with more time to look and found a couple more DC comics with Atari inserts. Both were on my list of possibilities already, I just overlooked them before.

However, I learned that I don't want DC issues from Dec 1981. Those inserts aren't Atari.

So I picked up three comics with the inserts: The Daring New Adventures of Supergirl #19, DC Comics Presents #35, and Green Lantern #156. Thankfully, you can spot the inserts without even opening the bags. I guess I have new things to search for at the comic store when I travel now. 2/2

Two months ago I became aware of these DC inserts thanks to Aaron. I have very few pre-Crisis DC comics, so I, a 1980s Atari enthusiast, missed out.

I managed to find a list of issues—no idea of it's complete or not—and eventually got to my local comic shop to see what they had. 1/2

#StarWarsSunday Marvel Special Edition Featuring Star Wars #2. It's treasury sized, but it's not officially part of that series. It contains the last three (of six) issues of the original Star Wars comic adaptation. Front and back cover art by Howard Chaykin and Tony deZuniga.

#RandomGameSaturday Confession: Most of my games have gone unplayed for years. I bought this copy of BMX Airmaster new from post-Crash toy store stock in the late '80s. Now it has actiplaque. (Does anyone still use that term? I'll explain in the follow up.) I didn't realize this had happened. ☹️ 1/2

See, news media? You don't have to leave details out to write a headline that makes you want to read more.

I don't remember exactly why I skipped vinyl for UHF. Possibly it was harder to find. Or maybe I just went with what most of my music collection was at that point. I don't think I had a CD player of my own yet. 2/2

#WeirdAlWednesday UHF was my transition ALbum. Previously I'd bought Weird Al on vinyl, but this one I got on cassette. 1/2

#StarWarsSunday Marvel Special Edition Featuring Star Wars #1. It's treasury sized, but it's not officially part of that series. It contains the first three issues of the original Star Wars series, which is half the comic adaptation. Front and back cover art by Rick Hoberg & Dave Cockrum.

#RandomGameSaturday Personal Arcade: Volume One for Windows 95 was released in 1997. Despite the title, it does not contain arcade games, but rather ten Colecovision non-arcade ports. This collection has an entry on MobyGames, but lacks scans, so I need to take care of that.

If you see this, post a Spider-Man.

Wow! I was unaware Colecovision Flashback existed as software. I thought it was only hardware.

Also, I was wrong. The Colecovision collection I have was the one referenced in that MobyGames entry: Personal Arcade Volume One. Which also lacks info and scans, so I will have to submit them.

@randookla.bsky.social Wondering, given one of your band names, if this is a "must buy"?

#RandomGameSaturday Chuck Norris Superkicks, a single-ender Xonox cartridge for the Atari 2600. (It helpfully says so on the label.)

I have to store it separately from the rest of my Atari games so it doesn't kick their asses.
