last TI viewership being so high and the game somehow having consistent 500k+ avg playerbase for more than a month the first time since 2017 makes me think the game might actually be immortal even if it lost the cultural grip it had around roughly 2009-2017

as much as i dislike CS' mechanical skill ceiling being gradually diminished throughout the years, i'm starting to feel that the mappool are a bigger issue than the gunplay issues - there are 3 "basic" 4 square layout maps in the pool rn and 2 of them are basically old enough to drink lmao
