Öffentliche Daseinsvorsorge vor Ort ist der entscheidende Faktor, wenn es für Bürger:innen um die Frage geht, ob der Staat (für sie) funktioniert. Daher ist es nicht nur ein Thema der öffentlichen Finanzen, sondern zentral für die Zukunft der Demokratie.

Angesichts eines kommunalen Finanzierungsdefizits von 24,8 Mrd. € für 2024 und eines Investitionsstaus allein auf kommunaler Ebene i.H.v. 186 Mrd. €, muss die Bundesregierung dringend eine dauerhafte Lösung für die strukturelle Unterfinanzierung der Kommunen finden.
