I can't believe there is even a discussion and argument (from some) for the use of AI in writing.

I'm so curious, what was your first banned book that you read?

I bought 36 books today by Indie Authors.

Not ONCE did I go to Amazon. I respected (and will continue to respect!) the boycott.

I also have made, so far, $75 in royalties NOT from Amazon today as an Indie Author.

It possible to support indie authors WITHOUT shopping at Amazon.

I say this a lot. People want to tout how many Black authors are winning awards and that's both true and great! But Black authors shouldn't HAVE TO BE AWARD WINNERS before you add their books to your collections. All the white authors in your collection haven't won awards...or even been nominated.
I love Black excellence n all but I also long for a world that rewards Black ordinariness--like, I want Black people to also be allowed to be mediocre and be successful!

Don't forget that authors are small businesses, even if their publishers are large corporations. So if you buy local authors' books from local indie bookstores, it's a double whammy!
