idk that much music theory either, but the way I'd describe that is the blue part is establishing a key by playing notes slowly, similar to how a bass guitar part would. then at around 0:36 when it changes which notes it's alternating between that's a key (or maybe just chord) change.

generating a compressor from a data format seems like an interesting approach. I've been working with Blosc+LZ compression for a problem the last few weeks at work; wonder if this could do better.
