I watched the McMullen movies this week. I vaguely recall bailing on the VHS of the first one decades ago, but dug its evocative charm today. The new one’s slicker, much better acted and I like the byplay with the earlier film and Burns’ ironic schtick that his characters are kind of dicks.

I just watched the treacly Netflix Christmas romance Champagne Problems and I guess I now have to watch every Minka Kelly movie I can find. She’s enchanting in this.
