Ten years ago, I restarted career in the Neuroscience program at Emory. I wanted the freedom drive my own research and chase what interested me. Thanks, @tamaragenes.bsky.social, Alberto Stolfi, @vansciver.bsky.social, and all the mentors for the training and support that brought me here.

Did the same thing. Mentioned that the ripples are affecting and could continue to worsen things like their ability to get into med school or grad school. Invited them to join us at the Capitol to stand up for science.

Sure, one of those jobs is mine, but we are doubling the value of that investment! Protect public support of science!

Stand Up For Science next Friday (3/7)! In 2024, Georgia institutions received just over $1 billion in funding and had more than $30 billion in economic impact in GA. That's a PHENOMENAL return for tax payers- let's share that news!

This is it people. This is why we have to be careful with our use of jargon. The masses are frightened. Wait until they learn about neomorphic mutations!

CDC saves lives. Diseases are real. They're out there. It's not just COVID and bird flu.

Add CRISPR to the list. Their discovery, funded by NSF, moved research and future gene therapies forward by leaps and bounds. That grant is peanuts compared to the multibillion dollar genetic engineering industry based on it.

Heading to @kennesawstate.bsky.social tomorrow to interview for their Molecular and Cellular Biology department. Hope they like fluorescent images of little baby tunicates.

Listen up @esa.int @ec.europa.eu you have a once-a-century opportunity to wholesale poach the intellectual engine of a continent.

Fund some labs, and you’ll reap a century of scientific dominance. Exactly what we did to you in 1930.

I suspect that the money for these programs will be moved elsewhere by the time funding decisions are made. My hope is that by submitting to these parent opportunities we have a better chance of getting the award. As you say, what a waste of time and worry. Good luck!

Hey, that's me. I'm that tall blurry guy! I had a blast teaching at MBL for the Colby College Jan Plan.

The MBL offers a variety of immersive experiences for undergraduates who are exploring careers in STEM 🧬

This January, @colbycollege.bsky.social students spent two weeks diving into MBL life and research in Woods Hole.

Same situation. Withdrew from MOSAIC and submitted to the parent with today as a deadline. What a pain...

He cozied himself up to the party leader, a man he revered. Through his vast propaganda machine in new and convincing media he was catapulted to a position of power in the new government where he could shape policy and indulge his dear leaders tyrannical desires.
