I have 2 micrometers I inherited from my Dad, 1 in British Imperial (ironic, but that's the name for the system that measures in inches in use here in the U.S.) and 1 in metric. Never thought of these suggested uses, but at the first opportunity ...

Seems somehow counterintuitive, to me at least.

So far, better than your day! Once had a bath leak into the kitchen below, discovered the previous owners had moved the tub, cut the floor joists for rearranged plumbing, never bothered to head the joists off. Cast iron tub, tile bath, all held up by force of habit.

It's all about the bass, is it?
