Dishing on the Edmonds, Washington and Seattle area dining scene (and sometimes local politics because Edmonds' old guard is shady).
Still having a hard time swallowing $8 for a pint of local beer. We're talking a 60% increase on keg prices and the cost to pour a beer in the last decade? I don't know enough about the current economics of the bar industry, but I'm highly skeptical.

The Fascist dictator: “Always right.” “Many enemies…much honor.” “Believe, obey, fight.” That pretty much sums things up in a dozen words.

The one constant over these years of piss poor Edmonds leadership has been Vivian Olson. She & her NIMBY MEGA friends have been anti-business & growth at the expense of revenue. And now she wants to sell our parks? It's time to take our city back from this old guard hell bent on holding us back.

Love me some Shawn O'Donnell's, but the corn beef tonight was as dry as Seattle sports' trophy case.

Harbor City is closing — huge bummer.
Longtime Seattle dim sum house will close for good this week
Harbor City, which has served dim sum in Seattle's Chinatown International District for nearly four decades, will shut its doors for good this week.

Portofino Pizza is promoting an All-You-Can-Eat Crab Special on Friday, March 7, starting at 5 p.m. for $39.99/pp. Includes garden salad and garlic bread.

Not sure how the two are affiliated, but they're also promoting the same deal every Monday at Thrasher's Pub in Bothell.

@repkimschrier.bsky.social What the hell are you doing on this list?
House votes 263-156 to pass the Laken Riley Act—which will enable Trump’s ICE to put migrants in detention without due process & empower states to block visa programs & federal immigration policy.

46 Democrats voted with Republicans.
12 Senate Democrats did the same.
Will be first bill Trump signs.

Victor Tavern is fine, but if we had our choice of Ethan Stowell outposts, I'd much prefer Tavolata or Rubinstein's.

I'm certain the production value of Seattle's drone show & KING5's coverage would be wildly better if run by UW students. That was hard to watch.

And if that sounds bad, CNN's Austin coverage might have been worse.

If I lived closer to Ono Poke I'd definitely have a problem on my hands.

It sure is looking like #Edmonds is going to lose its police department AND end up paying Pruitt big money to not be our police chief.

Vivian Olson shouldn't get another vote in this city.

Very cool!

I like what I've been hearing about T&T so far. Excited for the Lynnwood opening.

A good look at what to expect from Lynnwood's forthcoming T&T Supermarket (in the former Sprout's space at 196th & 99), which just opened its Bellevue location. www.seattletimes.com/life/food-dr...
Beloved Richmond, B.C., supermarket and food court debuts in Bellevue
Forget driving to Canada to hit T&T, a Richmond-based grocery chain with a beloved Asian bakery. No more: A 76,000-square-foot T&T is now open on the Eastside.

Was lamenting Von's Chicken not making this story, then learned they've closed! Bummer, they had good chicken. Still one in Federal Way I believe for any diehards. The Lynnwood location has been replaced by Pho Corner, currently in soft opening. www.seattletimes.com/life/food-dr...
Our food writer tries 3 fantastic fried chicken spots
Head to Edmonds for great fried chicken from a Korean restaurant, a teriyaki joint and one Seattle-area institution.
