Don't let the means distract us from what the ends are. Rufo states exactly what the goal is, long-term: “Today, we celebrate victory. Tomorrow, we get back to the fight. We must not stop until we have abolished DEI ideology from every institution in America.” As usual, Emma Pettit does a great job.

Anti-DEI legislation runs directly in alignment with more diversity in higher education.

This will happen more and more. The goals if the movement are to impose a national imaginary that marginalizes the already-marginalized.

If only we had the urgency to educate all students that we do to get just a few into elite colleges. "The majority of [minoritized] students enroll at community colleges or less selective [4]-year, which never considered race in the first place."

Voting and the trajectory or education and so democracy are inextricably intertwined. Get your students and employees out there to vote!

Please also let your higher ed administrators know of Education for All and concrete approaches to take to avoid such self-censorship.

Exactly. The notion that DEI is a political construct is a distraction. The issue is power and attempting to maintain it by marginalizing the already marginalized. Restricting resources, curriculum, and offices is restricting access to higher ed and the promised that come with it.
