Highlights of Clifton WeBS count this morning, Ring-necked Duck still present, Goldeneye on north pit, 6 Pochard, Great & Little Egret, Green Sandpiper & 2 Yellowhammer. Also 276 GJ, 110 CG, 212 WN, 21 TU, 10 SV, 32 T.,1 SU, 60 MA, 6 GA, 23 L. & 1 EG.

Long-tailed Duck still on Clifton north pit this morning, also a late Redstart on the west side of main pit. Sadly found the Marsh Harrier dead on Ashmoor Common, a Whinchat there loosely associating with a couple of Stonechat was more positive.

Curlew Sandpiper still present this morning at Ripple Pits, south pit, east shore. Also Ringed Plover through, Green Sandpiper, 2+ Common Sandpiper and Hobby.

Good wader passage today at Sker Point & Kenfig NNR. Whimbrel, 3 Golden Plover, 50+ Sanderling, Sker rocks at high tide.Black-tailed Godwit, Little Stint & Wood Sandpiper on the east shore of pool, latter 2 flew north at 1.30. Also 2 Wheatear and 6+ Yellow Wagtail.

Good wader passage today at Sker Point & Kenfig NNR. Whimbrel, 3 Golden Plover, 50+ Sanderling, Sker rocks at high tide.Black-tailed Godwit, Little Stint & Wood Sandpiper on the east shore of pool, latter 2 flew north at 1.30. Also 2 Wheatear and 6+ Yellow Wagtail.
Highlight of an early morning visit to Camp Lane Pits, Grimley this young Cuckoo begging for food. The surrogate parent Reed Warbler duly obliged. Also Whinchat female and Redstart male on north causeway; Peregrine, 2 Sparrowhawk, 2 Kingfisher and 2 Egyptian Geese.

Corn Bunting and Brambling among the finches and buntings in the set aside immediately south of Main Pit Clifton, made this afternoons visit well worth while despite the mist and cold.

A drake Ring-necked Duck at Ryall Court Pits this morning was a welcome surprise, associating with Tufted Duck & 4 Pochard.NB this is a private site a working quarry with no public access. Also,10 Shoveler, 10+ Teal, 4 Wigeon, 2 Gadwall, 3 Red Kite, 2 Kestrel, Green Sand., 3 Snipe & 4 Stonechat

Rock/Water Pipit (A.Warr) overhead calling at Ryall Court Pits today landed but couldn’t be relocated. A Cattle Egret, this afternoon was a site 1st. Also juv. Marsh Harrier, male Merlin, 2 Red Kite, Great Egret, Green Sand. 10+ Snipe, Shelduck, 4 Pochard & 45 Tufted Duck.

A lingering Whinchat the highlight of a dreary afternoon at Ryall Court Pits, also Green Sandpiper, 12 Lapwing, 5 Little Grebe and all 3 common hirundines.
