Worked in TV for a long time and am now turning to directing. Also produce music and love pop culture.
For those that care, a new Dolby Atmos mix of Do They Know It’s Christmas (1984) has just gone on to streaming. As well as sounding warmer and more modern, there’s a slight difference to Paul Young’s opening like - an additional word “…and there’s no need to be afraid”.

Thoughts, please. Saw the wonderful Human League in Cardiff last night. Apart from Susan being booed when she said it was the start of their Englishtour (ouch) it was great but someone had a go at me for dancing in by the third act. I didn’t stop. Do you think people should sit through pop concerts?

Wanted to share that I’ve just been nominated for Best Director for my short film at The North Film Fest which takes place in NYC next Feb. I’ll be going out there, of course. Still pinching myself about it!

What lyrics did Smash Hits get wrong that you believed?

For me, it’s
“I’ll show you in spring it’s a picture of Sting”

The Cure ‘Lovecats’.

I was working in Insurance in Bristol. The main from Memorex who came to fix our computer monitors told us he’d just heard it on the radio.
Good morning all ! Do you remember where you were 34 years ago today? A momentous occasion… wishing you all a good weekend.

Very excited by the 2024 remixed version of Thompson Twins ‘Into The Gap’ out today. I feel this is an overlooked band from the 80s.

Don’t want to say this too loudly, but I don’t think The Box of Delights is all that…

Catching up with Sounds of the 80s on Radio 2 and they played Madonna’s ‘Supernatural’ for their Halloween episode. Can we check if this is its first play on BBC? I feel @jkalifornia.bsky.social might have been involved…?

I produced this. LOYD is incredibly talented and we’re so happy with what we created.

I’m in Cornwall, filming a feature film at the moment. Today’s a day off so I popped to Plymouth to catch up with my friend Stephen who I’ve known since 1978.

On this day in 1969, BBC1 launched a colour service which was initially available to around 50% of the U.K. (covering London, Birmingham, South Lancashire and South Yorkshire). Colour programmes on this first night included Star Trek (Arena) and Dixon of Dock Green.
