What people seem to forget is that democracy is fragile. People fought hard to achieve it. Now democracy seems obvious, and people don't notice when it slips away. It's horrifying.

In a democracy, policy is made by first listening to experts and stakeholders, investigating the consequences and whether it is legal. In the US, I see this crumbling and worse: people who think it is okay.
