Run offline maps on #RaspberryPi with MapTiler Server. Ideal for deployment in remote areas, during emergency response, or at industrial sites. Now maps can be accessed anywhere, even on single-board computers without an internet connection. Find out more via link in the comment section.

@eliocamp did you compute the contours on the sphere?

Spent all day fixing a bug in metR that broke tanaka contours when projecting contours. Now it's fixed and can keep designing my poster.

@juliasilge Thanks! When I start positron from the command line in some directory, the directory shown is always ~ (i.e., my home directory); this is on linux. How do you start positron, or how could I do this differently? Maybe clicking some kind of project file?
edzer.mastodon.social.ap.brid.gy
It works when running "Preview", but not when I click "run cell".

#rstats is anyone here using #positron? I discovered that the latest version works for me! Super happy about that. Now I'm trying to find out how it will load data files from the current working directory when started with a .qmd file from there, instead of trying to read from my home directory.

The legality (not wisdom) of putting European private data on US clouds hinges on the availability of the US Privacy and Civil Liberties Oversight Board. Trump neutered this board, and the European parliament has taken notice & asked the European Commission what they think:

It was in view of the Commission’s assessment that the European Parliament adopted its resolution of 11 May 2023 on the adequacy of the protection afforded by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (2023/2501(RSP)). Furthermore, during a LIBE Committee mission to Washington in May 2023, LIBE Members had an opportunity to discuss EU-US data transfers with Members of the US Congress, representatives of the US Departments of Justice and Commerce, as well as the Chair of the Federal Trade Commission. One of the issues considered in the above-mentioned resolution are the competences of the Privacy and Civil Liberties Oversight Board (PCLOB), an independent body responsible for ensuring that privacy and civil liberties are safeguarded. The EU-US Data Privacy Framework established a new review mechanism, allowing individuals in the EU whose personal da
