I went to see the film the first week it was out and bought the soundtrack. Really loved the soundtrack and don’t remember much of the film.

When I was living in Spokane, Seattle blueswoman Duffy Bishop played Janis in a stage show & I was able to catch her at the Fort Spokane Brewery shortly after, still in character & costume & singing Joplin's songs.

I was too young for the real thing, but it was incredible. Truly did her justice.
