I will get to you eventually it's been a lot more work than anticipated and I haven't had a lot of bandwidth for it with the holidays

No programming is required! You can use something like skyfeed.app (it's a bit more technical but it's what I use) or blueskyfeedcreator.com which I haven't tried but have heard it works well.

Real-time app for Bluesky with a powerful Feed Builder

Something I'm seeing a lot of is volunteer service operators moving those services to a different account. I wonder if making it easier to do that would be a good thing to lobby the devs for.

Yea that's still the plan. Just need to sit down and do it. It's #4 on my list of things to do tonight.

I'm in the opposite boat. Used to be constantly sick, now I actually can't remember the last time I had a cold and last had covid 2 years ago. (Knocking on wood)

Oh no are people noticing the pleiades again?

Discouragement for who? These things can take a bit of work and time to get started but in the end all it needs is a bit of attention now and then. Kinda like a plant lol

I think it's fine to run a more niche feed if you have low availability. You could probably do a list+emoji type feed and just add people when you can. There's lots of feeds like that currently where new people only get added every so often.

Nope. Managing other mods is something I have done before and don't want to do again. I would rather people be in charge of their own thing than subordinate to me.

I am planning to do that actually! The other thing I need to be able to do is block over minor stuff that isn't worthy of getting booted from a whole community... because right now that's what happens if I block you.

As a post-script, does anyone have tips for managing notifications when you have ADHD? Yes I already use the mentions feed.

This is potentially a way to promote other community creators and move the center away from myself. I can't shoulder as much responsibility as I have, nor should I. I'm going to think about it a bit more tonight and hopefully implement the change this week.

What I'm thinking is converting the existing feed to an index of gardening communities. We can have the regional feeds in there of course, and if people are interested, we can have feeds by zone and by interest. I'll continue to make myself available to help folks build their own feeds as well.

In the interest of my original goal for the feed: promoting gardeners and creating a nice space for people to post plants, I think what I would like to do is promote gardening-related communities I'm not in charge of.
