Play every game, watch all wrestling (that isn't WWE), like all muscle girls, afraid of all bees
Proud to be that person who pays 0 attention to real life sports outside of tennis or combat sports but will devour a great arcadey sports game like NFL Blitz, Sega Bass Fishing or 3D Hockey or a strong sim game like PGA or F1 or especially a sports rpg like Inazuma Eleven or Mario Golf GBC/GBA

The Gaming Plan this week is a momentous one. After almost a decade the new Inazuma Eleven game comes out and obviously I will play it. If you want a soccer rpg that's kind of like Blitzball but x1000 there it is. Otherwise there's Zelda, Ghost of Yotei, and settling into cold, dead, ugly November

Picked up some more for the Criterion collection, trying to figure out if there's anything else I want. Lady Snowblood maybe, Barry Lyndon, Branded to Kill, gotta think on it

Really bad pic but hey, following along with #Segaiden continues. Genesis GnG is WAY harder than Super and feels pretty janky but I do think it's fun. Not so much the extending tongue platform part but the rest was. Early Genesis has some very hard games, prob won't push to finish in the future

I might give TotK another shot next year because Age of Imprisonment's story and characterization are actually pretty good and hey, that helps a lot with caring about what I'm doing in the big open world game that has a fraction of the story

The AI usage in Arc Raiders really just kinda sucks and it sets such a bad precedent on "bbbbbut the actors agreed to it!" and like yeah great, they agreed to a garbage deal for a ping system that could have just been done differently. Or they could just pay the actors to keep doing VA work

I still don't really understand the fascination with City Trial in Kirby Air Ride but it's cool I guess. The Kirby battle arena stuff's never really interested me like with Fighters and such so just adding in more preamble doesn't do much for me. The racing seems fine if the tracks are really good

Dragon Quest 2 HD2D is closer to a new modern DQ than anything else given how much was added, changed and improved. It's just a really remarkable remake and of the HD2D trilogy, I think it's actually far and away the best.
You can play 1/2/3 but 3/1/2 is probably better now

The idea that you can't fund SNAP where people get like $50/month to feed themselves (which I grew up on) but you could fund an entire nation's worth of HSA accounts, which couldn't cover even 1/10th of a major surgery without insurance, is just the dumbest thing I've heard all week

Never be sad that you have a backlog of games, but also recognize that a backlog is not just every single game you own, it's the games that you have a real desire to play imminently whenever the mood strikes you. In that regard you have a whole list of things to look forward to, enjoy it

"Beat em ups are button mashing quarter munchers, but this new one is really good because it's about learning and getting good" is the beat em up version of "Unlike other mecha shows, this one is about the characters."

Decided to get back to The Expanse before the end of the year because that's how I got myself back into reading. I remember having a hard time getting into the act at first but reading is a skill and I've gotten better. Persepolis Rising has been breezy so far

Given how disjointed and slight the story is in TotK I shouldn't be too surprised that Age of Imprisonment has a lot more going for it in that department but it's still exceeding my expectations already.
It also looks/runs well enough but man, I can't wait for them to ditch FSR1

Rockstar's funny because obviously they make the biggest game in history blah blah blah but also they don't exist except once per decade so if they went away I wouldn't even notice at this point. It's not like I'm getting Smuggler's Run 6 or Table Tennis: Spin Cycle, or Midnight Club 2025 from them

Pokemon ZA dlc that's still in the same boring city just doing battles doesn't really fix the game being generally boring to run through

I don't know if I expected Dragon Quest 2 to be one of my favorite games of the whole year but here we are. I have too many favorite games this year.

Finished Cannery Row by John Steinbeck and I think it's one of my favorite books, though I could do without the racial slurs. It's from the 40s though so what can you do. Steinbeck is just so easily effortlessly descriptive, really great to read. That's book 18, 1.5x my original goal for 2025

Game releases are slowing down, less than 10 weeks left in the year, it's time to start making up new spreadsheets to track all my stuff for 2026. New 10game (or two), new goals in reading, new old movies to check out, always fun to think about how to shape a new year

I think if I did any kind of console library streaming project I'd do PS2 Year One. From launch in 2000 until end of 2001. Cut out the obvious duds, but also play some big games for the other consoles of that period. I'd definitely want a more historical style to it. Also wouldn't take 30 years

The Gaming Plan is to continue with Dragon Quest 2 HD2D, which is wonderful with all the changes. Tales of Xillia Remaster arrived but I'm not going to stick with it until I've cleared away games I haven't played before some more. New Zelda for the weekend. Only a couple pickups this month.

I feel like someone who says they actually get an extra hour of sleep out of the DST change is already someone in a situation where they can sleep however much they want and haven't had to be conditioned into waking up at a set time like a normal human
