In the manga, right now it’s a lot of politics and implications of the control of magic, which is cool but is going on for a bit with a lot of new characters. I think I just need to let some chapters build up and read them in one go

Hit the (initial) ending of Hades 2, and I really like where it's at, but you can see the constraints of wanting to "respect the players time" here vs the constraints of a roguelike structure. I think this ending could have been a midway point or 2/3rds point and then (ROT13 spoilers):

Useful tip for folks running A PERFECT WIFE (or any other rpg set in a SEAsian city):

If somebody at your table can't make a session, handwave as: they got stuck in a traffic gridlock, cannot get free for three hours
