I think that many people who constantly lie for no apparent reason don't even register the fact that they are lying. If there is even a 10% of veracity in what they say, in their own understanding they are telling the truth, regardless of the facts.

Update on the magpie friend: it's started to greet me on the street now. I know it's the same one because it always follows this ritual: lands on a spot next to me, makes eye contact for a bit, then it playfully flies closely ahead of me. It's fucking adorable.
One of the highlights of my life is currently the adorable magpie that shows up at my window a couple times a week, peeks at me and then checks if I left snacks for her

Just finished reading this book by @wiswell.bsky.social after picking it up from a used bookstore. It was lovely! Really fun reading a monster romance from the monster's pov and following along as a monster learns to be human.
Thoroughly enjoyed it and definitely recommend!
