Not only is the book amazing but it’s thrilling to see the thought that went into work if you’re interested in lesbian/butchness/genderqueerness in literature—that whole space. We talked about it in our interview last year:

If you haven't read The Unbroken by CL Clark, it's brilliant and on sale for $4.99 at Kobo (and presumably elsewhere). SO GOOD + the final bk in the trilogy just came out! Highly rec'd. Military fantasy deeply immersed in colonialism, two mesmerizing women, a queen and a conscript soldier. SO GOOD.

I re-read book 1, now that I have the entire trilogy in my hands to read in one long go.
Still an amazing book about colonialism, compromise, faith, love (in all shades) and sad realism.
