Completely without sarcasm: I love the grudging tone of this Tumblr tag. They simply can't resist any longer. "Oh, go on then, twist my arm, I'll have a queer werewolf book, I suppose. If you're having one."

The Wolf and His King by @finnlongman.com is out today, and we've already sold two!

It's an excellent new queer retelling of the 12th-century tale of Bisclavret the werewolf, set in medieval Brittany and full of secrets, yearning, isolation, beauty and pain, & beautifully written 🐺❤️

Weird moths you say? Sold!

I'm really enjoying the Luna Press novellas. Especially this time of year when I'm perpetually too tired for something huge, but still want an interesting unique read 💙📚🪐

Are books sweet treats? Because that's what I'm buying today.

Better get a slice of cake and a nice chai latte as well just to cover all the bases.

Ok, I'm doing it.

An advent of posts every day of December til Christmas of my personal favourite #SFF and horror books of 2025...

(Wish me luck. If I miss a day I've probably been caught in a calendar landslide at work, or trampled by excited Jellycat fans when we get a fresh delivery, or asleep)

Everyone's loving these mini graphic novels from DC. They've recently re-released a whole bunch of classics as full colour chunky paperback comics, most only £8.99 each.

Perfect for starting your collection, or buying on a budget!

Exciting news for James Islington fans: the film rights for his Hierarchy series has been acquired.

Fingers crossed they can do it justice (and that they actually get around to it... Looking at you, whoever's sitting on the Red Rising rights these days)

Alastair Reynolds' latest novel Halcyon Years is a gripping noir set aboard a vast starship on a long-haul journey, with real life first man in space Yuri Gagarin as our protagonist detective.

Moody, murderous, mystery-filled, and epic as you'd expect!

Out now, I, Medusa by @ayanagray.bsky.social is a raw, rageful and empowering reimagining of the classic myth: an origin story of a young woman caught in a web of politics & power, gods & magic, and a system that's trying to keep her small. 🐍⚡

It's a gut-punchy read that'll stick with you!

Hey you, are you staying hydrated today? Make sure you're drinking enough. It's easy to forget when it's chilly outside.

...

This PSA was brought to you from a very busy bookshop, where I've just found a coffee I made 5 hours ago and forgot to drink.

Legend has it that St Botolph’s Church in Iken, Suffolk, was once marshland teeming with demons, before a holy man drove them away—or did he? The church is the setting for Reggie Oliver’s “Funeral at St Botolph’s”, the story that opens Tales of #OccultBritain.

Flame Tree Publishing have a new gothic fantasy collection out this month ♥️

Afrofuturism contains new and classic short stories exploring themes of black identity in the Gothic genre, and the book itself is a really stunning, weighty foiled hardback. It'd make a very nice gift!
