This also separates the theory from the earmarks of poltergeists haunting. All avenues should be explored when investigating and not limit to one theory.

5/? The trickster is neither positive nor negative causing havoc that builds up as it gains energy and attention, then just moves on once bored. This marches with the poltergeist theory of almost growing from simple childish acts to intelligent haunting.

4/? Instead of poltergeist, trickster used instead. This separates the haunting from a person. Though it was connected with adolescent, poltergeist could be any person going through an extreme distressing time or a latent psychic ability. Since it can be sporadic, makes it difficult to study.

3/? The topic was popular in 60’s-70’s during the surge of interest in parapsychology. We also had movies: Poltergeist (‘82), The Entity (‘82), The Haunting (‘63) the classic objects moving, voices, banging, apparitions. The difference would be that no direct history could be connected. #paranormal

2/? The theory was that was caused by psychic bursts from a teen going through puberty or stress. This has shown to not always be the case. These cases could last months or years and just stop. This is an extremely simplify version of a poltergeist. Topic was popular in the 60’s-70’s. #paranormal

This is also explains why we see an 1800s etching of Pennywise before IT had killed Bob Grey in IT Ch 1. IT is in this continue cyclical of its own birth and death.

IT is an inter dimensional space creature that doesn’t work within time like humans. When humans look into the Dead Lights, it doesn’t just tether the person to IT but gives them a taste of how IT sees time. This is why Beverly and Stanley both saw the future.

I’ve had to hunt down books that talk about the women in the 18th and 19th Cen. ceremonial occult world more than a footnote or anecdote. The older book’s title them as just the Wife, Mistress, Muse, Secretary, but rarely accounts how they were occultist in their own right.

I am also liking how the running theme through all the encounters with IT
Is the kids realizing something is wrong and they need to do something.
