This went triple platinum in my brain.

I think the convergence of a lot of corporate art feeling especially empty lately and us all realizing how little of our media we actually own has led to this. I literally just bought a 360 to play older games too, everyone's retreating to the past it seems!

Lmao lord I might need to get the baseline set up them worry about optimization for speed later. All I know now is what drives & nas to get, getting a whole other pc for ot might be beyond me for now

Started slowly ripping my Blu-ray collection and started setting up Jellyfin too but realized I wouldn't keep my pc on all the time to keep the server open, so ive been looking at NAS' as well! Seen a few videos on this one, hoping to pick it up when money looks less funny a.co/d/dHR36IK

I know (just make yourself do it) is not great/sustainable advice but it's working for me. Having a 360 for the first time and a new GPU to toy around with has helped incentivized playing games on them, but the excitement of finding my next classic/oddity helps too.

Honestly, I've just had to force myself into doing non social media/phone things more when just lounging at home, or even opening up other apps other than they news when away from home. Got back into Wordle and Guessthe.game, and really aggressive in playing my backlog lately.

that is like less than 1% of all 360 games, kinda impressive lowkey! Reminds me of the like 6 PS4 games that we're backwards compatible on PS5 at launch

Also, wild fun fact, but my Jericho copy was actually sealed! Almost didn't want to open it but cmon, I bought it to PLAY it lmao

I also have the other 2 Burger King games otw!

Final observation for the night tho: it was surprising how frictionless it was to set up. I expected to tweak a bunch of settings but after 2 console updates & logging in, it just worked. Was slightly disappointed too, I love setting up old tech lol

In the console UI, it'll tell you if a game is backwards compatible on Xbox One. It came in handy so I can only install 360-gen exclusive games, I can play the rest on Series X if I want, most of which came from Games with Gold years ago I'm sure.

You can install seemingly every 360 game to the hard drive for (i assume) faster load times. But the the Burger King Big Bumpin game won't let you. I can only assume it has something to do with the disk having both the OG Xbox and 360 versions on it.

In Bionic Commando (the Grin reboot of the Capcom classic) the loading screen displays an interactive 360 controller. it not only moves sticks/buttons as you press them, but when you hold them it tells you what that input does in game. its cool!

It also runs uncapped but only hits 60fps in menus.

Alone in the Dark infamously is structured like a season of a TV show, with levels framed as episodes and checkpoints framed as scenes. But like a DVD, you can just go straight to a random scene without having seen (played) it first. Like I just booted it up and loaded up level 3. Weird.
