To be clear, this is not a referendum on the quality of AI content. Markets are spooked because they believe tools like Project Genie will allow anyone to generate a video game. This is not actually possible. If you are a trader and would like to pay me 10 million dollars to explain why, hmu

Gold and silver falling on Trump hand-picking a sycophant as the Fed chair... wat? You think this guy *isn't* going to do what Trump tells him, and run the presses?

I'll take that trade.

Feeling pretty good about selling off the last of my (direct-owned) Microsoft stock two weeks ago.

No idea what the market is reacting to in their report, but Gaming is in shambles, Windows is rotting, and AI is a black hole for money.

Trams.

My current conspiracy theory is that if OpenAI doesn't go under in the next two years or so, it's actually because there are government interests behind this compute build-out. One so large even NSA's budget wouldn't cut it. The 'circular AI-economy' seems good if you wanted to obfuscate flows.

We have been told for nearly 30 years that America needed to tolerate mass shootings because the broad availability of guns would help us defend ourselves from an overreaching federal government. That day has come. The people who said this are supporting the federal agents. Many have joined them.

Utterly extraordinary. Trump is clearly very serious about using every tool at his disposal to help his far-right allies abroad. This would ordinarily surely be grounds for revoking the culprits' diplomatic credentials.
Amazing moment on French TV. A French judge explains how Trump sent people from the US Embassy basically trying to intimidate her during Le Pen's trial for embezzlement - something they've done to other judges around the world.

It is not up to the armed forces to put a stop to Trump’s ghastly ideas of war against NATO. The United States is not run by the military, nor should it be. Americans, and their elected representatives, must take this burden away from the armed forces—now.

we did it! a perfectly structured democracy. it's got checks, it's got balances. this thing is made to last. there's only one weakness: bad guys. if somehow some bad guys who don't care about decorum got elected they could basically just tip the whole thing over. luckily such men are unelectable
