I do #art sometimes.
Solid follow-up to the first game while having its own flavor, in terms of gameplay and art style both! Both games are a big recommend if you like Metroidvanias.

I understand it has flaws in pacing and rough edges, but I was so charmed by so many small moments and its beautiful style that I happily played through, then the back part of the story gave me feelings that I can NEVER fully convey. Also there's still arcade mode I need to play.

Really expected this to not hold up nearly as well as it did. Has its ups and downs, but even its downs weren't that bad. Some jokes remain truly iconic.

Sometimes your friends string you along their journey, and you follow along, in equal parts because there has to be SOMETHING there, and because they're coy about what it even is. But, we made it... despite their directions.

I went in expecting a shitty Chicken Run ripoff. It... was not that. I'm alarmed both by how much effort is in this movie and how much I liked it.
That said, I'm docking a point for queerbaiting me. Give me my turkey yaoi.

A simple game originally made for a Game Jam, that's basically just, what if BotW climbing, but extrapolated to a multiplayer game.
That said, it really hits. The simplicity makes it easy to pick up, the humor comes naturally, and it's even fun solo sometimes. Updates are also great.

Great casting, fun writing, just a good time.

Has a lot to say about the messy relationship religious trauma can bring, both with the religion itself and your family in it. Specifically Judaism, in this case, but a lot of it I found runs in parallel to my own experiences.
Also great humor that does not stop for you.

Very good atmosphere and storytelling. Almost feels like a bite-sized version of Silent Hill 2 (that's very reductive for both games but anything else would be spoilers).
((also, it's a BSky post, by definition it's going to be reductive))
(((alsoalso, it did, in fact, hurt)))

The sheer love of 3D platformers (especially Mario 64 and Sunshine) is palpable. Plus the characters have a great charm to them, and the aesthetic's nice. Being able to swap the player character's colors around whenever is also a big plus for me.

Love SO MANY characters, and the gameplay's a great iteration of the first. Management of the base/resources felt a bit much at times and story beats just straight-up telling you to do another run to find out more was tiring at times. Phenomenal game overall.

The sheer level of whimsy is off the charts with this one.

The fact this game does SO MUCH truly heinous shit that I will never defend and yet I still dumped 100 hours into it and gave it a nine should tell you how truly special this game is.
