Greg Stillson was written as a warning. Some parallels are too loud to ignore
If you’ve ever seen the Stephen King movie The Dead Zone you may remember the character Greg Stillson
Puts me in mind of Donald Trump

McCaffrey shifts the field without touching the ball. That’s presence. That’s design
On the pod @benjaminsolak.bsky.social and I talked about why the Niners offense looks like a buzzsaw again, and how Christian MacCaffrey’s gravity as a pass catcher is such a big deal.

This decision speaks volumes. Institutions matter. Principles matter
BREAKING: The Supreme Court just denied the Trump administration's desperate effort to deploy National Guard troops in the Chicago area.

This is a huge win for the rule of law.

Postmarked after death. Wrong jail. No inmate number. And we’re just starting to “look into it”?
this is insane to me. the doj had forever to look into this. now they're like liveblogging on x like they have no more information than a random person on social media

This isn’t satire. It’s a warning. And the fact that it feels familiar is the real concern
Only a matter of time until a UC Berkeley law professor writes a memo justifying torture, a brave Vanity Fair writer gets tortured to say whether it hurts, and we have a national discussion about whether certain people should be tortured for our safety.

This isn’t just about a warrant. It’s about dignity. And dignity doesn’t belong in a hallway confrontation
there’s so many reasons we need to abolish ICE
ICE agents illegally break into a woman's bathroom in a NY nutrition bar manufacturing plant. "Pull up your pants," says a male agent. The agents only had a warrant to review employer documents. They didn't have a warrant to search for, detain, or arrest anyone there.

When networks censor justice, silence becomes strategy
Meiselas: I’ve got to ask about your reaction to CBS censoring a report it was going to air on 60 Minutes… Is this something you see investigating?

Garcia: There are many members of Congress looking at this issue in particular, and I think CBS still has a lot of explaining to do.

This isn’t generosity. It’s choreography. And the price tag says more about the intent than the offer
Counterpoint: You can get more cash than this if you just find her unattended purse at a restaurant
Kristi Noem makes an announcement on Fox & Friends: "We are saying that if you voluntarily want to go home now to your country, if you're in the US illegally, we'll give you $3,000 through the holidays to send you home. We'll buy you a ticket, give you $3,000 to go home."

Radar interference? Sounds like someone’s logic got caught in a storm
“Windmills interfere with radar” is even dumber than “solar power only works during the daytime.”
Burgum: "Today we're sending notifications to the 5 large offshore wind projects that are under construction that their leases will be suspended due to national security concerns ... the Dept of War has come back conclusively that these large offshore wind programs create radar interference"

When leaders weaponize emotion, they lose the right to lead
Sussan Ley is clearly so far out of her depth that she deserves to be sacked by her party, purely for her own good.

This is perhaps the most contemptible thing any political leader has ever said in this country.

The sooner she f*cks off to obscurity the better for Australia.

If truth survives five screenings but not politics, we have a bigger problem
60 MINUTES CORRESPONDENT: “Our story was screened 5x and cleared by both CBS attorneys and Standards and Practices. It is factually correct. In my view, pulling it now is not an editorial decision, it is a political one.” #CBSNewsMAX #BariWeiss

Justice doesn’t wait for comfort. Keep pushing
This was a very long weekend reviewing the Epstein files, and this week will be critical to put more pressure on the DOJ to get survivors justice.

I have worked tirelessly, and I am not stopping now.

Some want me to stay silent. I refuse. Get ready for a busy week.
Important Sunday Evening Message
A very big week is coming up. Media censorship is alive and well. Let's keep pushing for justice for the survivors.

A reminder worth reposting. My story, like so many others, began with courage and migration
Remember: Almost all of us are the descendants of immigrants who fled persecution, or were brought to America under duress, or sought better lives for themselves and their descendants.

Politicians who stoke fear and hatred over immigration want you to forget this.

Do not.
