America already has far more sprawl than every other country on the planet. The idea that we need to double down is insane.

We have so much underutilized land near transit that could be converted to climate-friendly, affordable, walkable housing. That should be the priority.
Not a single time in this article glorifying the need for sprawl to address the US's affordable housing crisis is there a mention of the vast transportation costs of sprawling living patterns. Nor is there mention of the fact that sprawl is directly linked to disinvestment in urban cores.
America Needs More Sprawl to Fix Its Housing Crisis
The word has become an epithet for garish, reckless growth — but to fix the housing crisis, the country needs more of it.

Let's look at some MTA data:

Every day, 1.5 million people commute to work in the congestion relief zone (Manhattan south of 60th). Of those commuters, ~1.3 million already got there via transit. Only 143,000 people got there via car.

I dunno David, showing sympathy for a group usually includes opposing state efforts to ban the healthcare that they need.

disappointed but not surprised @nytimes.com. ignoring active threats to trans rights and wellbeing while painting reactionaries as “reasonable” and activists as “extreme.” and weirdly defending JK Rowling?
