I feel like I'm probably on my way out, and with the way things are going, I'm sort of happy about that.

I'm going to be attending and running the meetings of our student supervisors going forward since I manage the primary student supervising staff. However, the staff person who complains about my meetings ALL THE TIME told me how she's just SOOO glad I'll be running these meetings now.

Our student-affairs folks run a recurring “meet-and-greet” table for their VP w/ coffee, muffins, etc. Anyway, we’d moved all tabling events to a safer spot because the old location blocked an AED on the wall. Pretty straightforward safety call.

I thought my current place might be my last stop, but I might have to move for work.

marjorie taylor greene resigning from congress reminds me of when the biggest Karen of the HOA board crashes out.

Work is moving to phone IDs instead of physical cards. Honestly, I expected them to surgically put something in our wrists next. lol

In the Star Trek: The Next Generation episode, The Pegasus, when Riker walks into Picard's room (presumably Picard's quarters in this case)--what is it that Picard is eating? And why does it look like a MASSIVE feast? LOL

Sometimes I think about the Island of Misfit toys from that old Christmas movie and I think about that doll, whose only reason for being misfit was apparently her red hair.

At work, at the main service point, someone keeps hiding the kleenex tissues. We have nearly 50 students that work the service point and all of them are just *sniff sniff sniff* like they are coming down with the plague, yet all the tissues get hid away in cabinets in the back. Why???

Lordy, I document everything like I'm reporting on the fall of Rome! I have detailed reports on every project, all dated and time-stamped. All directives from my boss, and almost all correspondences cited and quoted. Future librarians will quote my work like Livy quoted the Senate decrees.

I must lie down where all the ladders start,

Someone said to me: "We once believed in God. Now we ask ChatGPT." But AI isn’t a new god. AI is a mirror, like the oracle or astrologer. It doesn’t reveal the future; it reflects us back to ourselves in data form. We are all still seeking meaning, just through a clearer reflection.

I the most distrubing dream last night. The odd part is, it wasn't a nightmare during the dream. I wasn't freighted or anything. But after waking up, the dream became more disturbing the more I thought about it.

The philosopher Reinhold Niebuhr once wrote that “Man’s capacity for justice makes democracy possible, but man’s inclination to injustice makes democracy necessary.”

So I’m told when staff ask me why management’s having us do a task, I’m not supposed to quote Charge Of The Light Brigade and say “Ours is not to reason why, ours but to do and die.”

It's really true. Even if you're going to hell, you have to go through Atlanta first. If purgatory had moving sidewalks, it'd be in Concourse B.

Probably just Hegseth returning from the bars.
A person drove a vehicle into a security gate outside the White House on Tuesday night, the Secret Service said. The service said the person was immediately arrested after the crash and there was no longer a threat. President Trump was in the White House at the time.

My 4 year old pup and I are tight. I’ve had him since he was 9 months old. I have told him so many times that he is in his forever home with me, that it’s a fucking promise at this point. Wherever I go, he goes.
