The few reasonable contacts I have knew better than engaging with these guys, but their silence made it look like these anti-peer-review takes were indeed the mainstream opinion... (also, this post reached way more people outside my bubble)

I wrote a half-joking remark that "Every time you use non-peer-reviewed papers as evidence for a claim in your scientific work, a reviewer dies" on LinkedIn and all I got was a huge flood of anti-peer-review takes
