This story marked my childhood. I was a few years younger than this kid and I remember the photo of him on the horse on every newspaper and on tv. It is indeed one of the stories that clearly marks the abyss between the romanticized Mafia fiction and the horrific reality
This thread recounts one of the most heinous crimes ever committed by Cosa Nostra in Sicily. It should be read as a counterbalance to any romantic images of mafia or any notions of honour instilled by Hollywood films or TV shows.

1-to-1 German classes have been incredibly helpful. I've gone from "so blissfully unaware of gender and agreement I don't let it affect my fluency" to "painfully aware of every mistake as soon as it comes out of my mouth, paralizing my ability to speak fluently" in no time

We are listeling to some nursery rhymes in German and I am amazed at how much overlap there is with the songs you hear at a beer festival. It's as if English speakers would sing "if you're happy and you know it clap your hands" when they get drunk.
