I don't know exactly how Eggers shot this movie but it's astoundingly effective.
It didn't have that "digital camera trying to look old tyme" thing that so many period pieces have now, so I assume shot on film w little/no cgi.
It just kicked a**.
And the two actors are absolutely hilarious clowns.
