Allowing this rhetoric on national television reinforces bigotry, fuels stigma, and endangers LGBTQ+ people. It increases hate crimes and marginalisation while distracting from the real sources of child abuse, which overwhelmingly occur in family and institutional settings by heterosexual men.
Linking LGBTQ+ inclusion to paedophilia is a toxic and dangerous trope.

History’s been shaped by those in charge, mostly white men, deciding what we remember. Stories of Black and female WWII pilots, and truths of colonisation, get cut from history. But real history isn’t theirs alone, it belongs to all. We deserve the whole story.
