Reflecting on Trans Day of Remembrance. The data from TGEU is a stark reminder of why this work is necessary. Behind every number is a human life - a story, a face, and a memory to be honoured. We are taking time to remember them.

The Charity Commission has just opened an investigation into the hideous transphobic lobbyists at Policy Exchange. 👇
“We think it’s long past time that the Charity Commission created real disincentives to breaches of this nature. In effect they amount to a misuse of public money, and if the Commission fails to do so we will not hesitate to challenge it in court.” goodlaw.social/9azv
After Good Law Project lodged a complaint against the rightwing lobby group Policy Exchange, the Charity Commission has launched a formal compliance case.

As coroners continue to issue PFD reports citing delays in accessing gender affirming care as contributing to the preventable deaths of trans people, our government forcibly chooses to detransition trans youth.

What’s happening in Brighton is unconscionable. It puts children in danger.

Meanwhile…
Please read this statement by Anne Health.

Trans children are being subjected by Sussex NHS to the physical torture of being forcibly detransitioned.

This is unnecessary cruelty and in my view constitutes torture, violence and child abuse on the part of NHS Sussex.

They say that their witness statement alone is a sufficient warrant to disapply Article 8 rights for trans people, as if Maya Forstater has discovered a new spell “Revocatus Conventionium, I hereby revoke your rights.”

At the risk of tooting my own horn, I completely agree. Primary legislation will be needed to clean up the mess made by gullible/complicit judges giving too much latitude to malicious and disingenuous bad faith actors conspiring to legitimate their bigotry.

When progressive government (read: a Green/Lib Dem coalition) finally returns to Westminster, a priority must be to revise relevant laws so that demonstrably bigoted views - racism/'race realism', transphobia/'gender critical'/'sex realism' - are treated as the hate speech they are.
Wow, look what the Forstater case has unlocked…

The racist is found to be unlawfully stopped by the police because of his protected characteristics of political belief.
