More relatedly, I’ve seen Thompson’s Who Goes Nazi piece floating around a bit lately. While it is a beautifully written piece, I think it’s worth noting that she was initially completely wrong about Hitler. Was not actually that good at seeing who would go Nazi. harpers.org/archive/1941...
