This whole op-ed hinges on the idea that Trump doesn't understand or publicly self-identify with the philosophical underpinnings of fascist theory and therefore can't possibly be a fascist.

I agree we should take the port back, but it's silly to frame this as some kind of aggressive threat posturing from the Chinese ambassador. Obviously, and quite reasonably, if our government starts taking away assets from Chinese companies then Chinese companies will invest less.

That's fair.

Maher Tarabishi, who has been detained by ICE since October, was the primary caretaker of his disabled adult child, Wael.

On Jan. 23, Wael died from complications related to Pompe disease, a rare genetic condition.
