The SAVE Act will disenfranchise a large number of women who changed their last names. Call today to oppose it. For women calling Republican legislators, try saying, “I’ll give up my husband’s last name before I’ll give up my right to vote.” I’m guessing that will make their heads explode.

Curtailing illegal immigration, which a majority of Americans support, is not the same as revoking the status of legal immigrants because of their speech, race, religion, or country of origin, and deporting them without charges or due process. One is law enforcement. The other is lawlessness.

Anytime the government is allowed to take someone’s rights here on American soil—to freedom, safety, life—without due process, we have lost the rule of law.
