My six week multimedia course, "Michel de Montaigne: the original hippy" at the Plymouth Center for Active Living next Fall. It's gonna be SO much fun. Lots of great selections, conversations, and interviews to discuss. Plus it will be in person, NOT on Zoom!😎

Hi, I'm the guy who used to oversee the federal government's agency IT telecommunications contracts. This is extremely bad. There is absolutely no need for this. Not only is it a huge security exposure, but the simplest explanation for this is that it is meant to be a security exposure.
Elon Musk’s Starlink Expands Across White House Complex
Trump administration officials said the company donated the internet service, saying the gift had been vetted by the lawyer overseeing ethics issues in the White House Counsel’s Office.

I am very concerned that the DOGE people are using armed force against US agencies as they break their way in to offices and kick workers out. How is that legal?

Walz: I think they hate public education because it’s easier to run an authoritarian government if you don’t have a population that knows.

The courts have confirmed what we knew at the time, that IT IS ILLEGAL TO CLOSE THESE AGENCIES OR EVEN DEFUND THEM WITHOUT CONGRESSIONAL VOTED MANDATE. Use the power and resources we already gave you.

Stop asking for money.Stand in front of beleaguered offices and only allow fully vetted agency workers in. Don't allow DOGE to walk administrators out of buildings. Stop unvetted DOGE workers from getting their hands on our personal data.

As vile as Trump is, he communicates with his base. His irrationality is on full display but "so what." Press coverage is free and he uses it. He doesn't even worry about contradicting himself. In a time of the 24 hour news cycle and constant coverage, I wish my elected leaders would do their jobs.

Here's something: A minute after losing the election, my email and FB feed was full of requests for donations from Dems. and the pace has continued. I know campaigns are expensive. But I also know these elected Dems now HAVE the jobs we elected them to. I expect them to do their jobs.

We saw Bill Keating defending science. We saw union leader, Thanace Pikoulas, tell us how hard they work to get the checks out. We saw Justin Evans, who reminds us how important NOAA and the National Weather Service are. They say "NOT ON MY WATCH." I couldn't be more proud to be in their company.

I had an epiphany today, as we stood out on Route 53 while people honked in agreement, then listened to the Social Security worker tremulously thank us for merely acknowledging their hard work. The movement is a grassroots, make-a-sign-and-show-up kind of thing. THIS IS A TWELVE ALARM FIRE, people!

We have an impressive track record that is purposefully not discussed in right wing media. We need to counter grievance with tangible results.

When the Democrats are finished with their circular firing squad, we’d better get on with the task of marketing our values of how good governance can improve the lives of people.

The only thing we can do now is watch the chaos in sadness and try to avoid saying, “I told you so…”

Our local Halifax Town Democratic Committee met tonight and we grieved together but we also talked about next steps and we feel optimistic about what we can do even as a small group.

I’m the treasurer of my local Town Democratic Committee and we’re gathering tomorrow night to commensurate and plan next steps. It is important to remember that the volume of disinformation was staggering and we must combat it.
