The Medina in Fez was a lot dirtier than the one in Marrakesh, so we felt better about eating a little bit of street food there (in Fez we were afraid to get sick from it!) Aside from that, both places were great in their own way. I would say that Marrakesh is livelier and has better food.

Yes, that is a very cool place to visit! Worth the time, especially if you like to take cool photos!

Hubby and I spent about 2.5 weeks in Morocco. We flew in to Fez, drove ourselves south, had a lovely night glamping in the Sahara, then spent some time in and around Skoura (so recommended!!!) and drove on to Marrakesh. I fell in love with the food and the scenery. I want to go back to see more!

You don't build with bricks in California because of earthquakes. Wood or flexible metal frames are the way to go. Many new homes in areas like this now have metal roofs as well.
